Autumn Song Photography is a North Carolina area father-daughter team that specializes in intimate affairs of the heart, from a baby's first breath to the day they walk down the aisle and everything in between. We believe that simple is alluring...we believe real is priceless...and we believe pure is beautiful. More importantly, we believe in the power of candid and unguarded moments. We capture life as it happens.
That being said, we won't be asking you to do anything that doesn't come from your own heart. All we ask is for real emotion and we'll make sure that our photographs are as charming and unique as you are.
Nestled just between Greensboro and Charlotte, we cover events in Winston Salem, High Point, Raleigh, Charlotte, Charleston, Wilmington--and well, anywhere you ask us to go!
Thanks for checking us out, we hope you enjoy your visit. Oh and while you’re here, leave us a comment, we’d love to hear from you.

Wedding Photography - Tyler and Bryson
|

W hether the weather be cold or whether the weather be hot, we weather the weather whatever the weather, whether we like it or not. It's a fact, we have no control over the weather. I really wanted this past Saturday to be perfect ... one reason being I had strongly recommended Uwharrie Point for Tyler and Bryson's outdoor wedding. I really enjoy photographing weddings there. For some reasonUwharrie Point has a soothing effect on people. Someone told me it is the serenity of the water, that may be true. All the weddings I've photographed at Uwharrie Point have had a "laid back" feel to them. When Lindsey and I arrived on location, we found Tyler in a cheerful mood (which is not unusual for her). We all decided that the wedding would be beautiful no matter what the weather had in store. The clouds were ominous and rain appeared imminent until about an hour or two before the wedding. Then suddenly, as if the clouds were called to duty elsewhere; they fled the afternoon sky, leaving us the most beautiful day anyone could ever desire. |

M onths before each lovely wedding, we usually do a bridal portrait session. Almost always done on location, they are one of my most favorite sessions to do. I especially love doing them when the bride and I are on the same page. Danielle and I spent about an hour and a half doing the portraits that most brides have come to expect. At the end of the session I asked her to remove her veil and let her hair down... wow! What I wanted to achieve was to bring out what I believe to be most beautiful about a young lady waiting to be married. A simple, yet sexy innocence that is often hid by bouquets, make-up, fancy hair, bridal veils, and overpowering backgrounds. |

Salisbury Wedding Photography - Danielle and Graham
|

I f two people are meant for each other, then it seems that Danielle and Graham are. They are absolutely two of the sweetest people I have ever met. Great big smiles and a constant twinkle in their eyes for each other. Lots of friends and good music, on a late spring evening, in downtown Salisbury made up the ingredients for a great reception. On our way home as a light rain fell softly on the windshield, and lightning lit the distant sky, Lindsey and I agreed that we are so blessed as father and daughter to be able to document events like this! |

T here's something very powerful and spiritual about the ocean. It's obviously a force that can't be contained by man. It's strong and unpredictable but yet it seems to want to draw you closer and closer to provide you with some sort of comfort. Maybe it's the sound of the waves crashing against the shore that somehow reminds us of the time we spent in the womb. Or maybe it's the constant ebb and tide that says to us that life gives and takes and is no respecter of persons.
Karen and I have been experiencing a few changes, the biggest being that she was offered a great job opportunity outside of Autumn Song.
Those of you who know Karen know this about her ... she's a hard worker with the sweetest personality of anyone you'll ever meet. She understands the value of customer relations and she is one of the best organizers in the world. Any company would be lucky to have her. I miss her around here like you wouldn't believe and she misses the everyday involvement with Autumn Song and with our children. Leaving these things and going back to the workplace was a difficult decision but we both are certain that God had His hand in it and it's the right thing to do.
Because Karen and I are so involved with our work and children we've somehow neglected time alone with each other sooooo ... we decided it was time for a mini vacation, just the two of us. Isn't it odd that you can really miss each other even though your together everyday? Karen and I are so different in many ways and yet we are very much alike in others. When we work I see the differences, but when we're away I only see the young lady I fell in love with many years ago.
Other happenings ... our son Nick graduated from college last week. I'm so proud of him. He's planning on teaching history and coaching. I believe he'll do well. We had big family party at my sister's house celebrating Nick's graduation, Bobby's birthday and Mother's Day. Hot dogs, hamburgers, with lettuce and tomatoes. Ice cold Pepsi's and french fried potatoes. Tell me, does it get any better? |

Senior Session With Mary Gwen
|

M ary Gwen is our first senior of this season. She's from a family of very talented singers and the word is that she is pretty talented too. I couldn't get her to sing a song for me but I did get a couple of beautiful smiles! |
