Autumn Song Photography is a North Carolina area father-daughter team that specializes in intimate affairs of the heart, from a baby's first breath to the day they walk down the aisle and everything in between. We believe that simple is alluring...we believe real is priceless...and we believe pure is beautiful. More importantly, we believe in the power of candid and unguarded moments. We capture life as it happens.
That being said, we won't be asking you to do anything that doesn't come from your own heart. All we ask is for real emotion and we'll make sure that our photographs are as charming and unique as you are.
Nestled just between Greensboro and Charlotte, we cover events in Winston Salem, High Point, Raleigh, Charlotte, Charleston, Wilmington--and well, anywhere you ask us to go!
Thanks for checking us out, we hope you enjoy your visit. Oh and while you’re here, leave us a comment, we’d love to hear from you.

S ince I was a boy, fun for me was being out in nature. I loved to romp through the woods looking for snakes and playing in the creek. Even today I can’t resist getting in a creek and turning over rocks in search of crawdads or salamanders. My love for nature and the beauty of it is what led me to photography. Needless to say, a day like yesterday with all the beautiful snow ... I had to get out in it. I called one of my good friends / super cool photographer Bill Jarrett and within a short while we were on our way. Our plan was to simply drive, look, and take only what the day had to offer. The photos you see were within a few miles of my house, with the exception of the covered bridge. We spent the entire day outside and as the sun began to set, we drove back to my house. My sweet wife had prepared homemade soup, cornbread, and chocolate bread pudding with chocolate sauce ... comfort food for the cold and hungry travelers that we were! |

W ow... I just can't believe how quickly this year has passed. So many wonderful things have happened in 2010 that it surely qualifies as one of the best ever, much better than I deserve. Christmas is such a wonderful time of year... a sentimental time when I'm reminded of years passed. Memories of family, old friends, cold winters, and ... eagerly waiting for Santa, hoping that I was good enough to get some of the stuff I'd been begging for. Then, Karen and I having our own children... staying up late on Christmas Eve helping "Santa" put toys together. Even though Christmas is a very happy time for some, it's not so for others. As I pause and thank God for all my blessings, I ask that you join me and say a little prayer for those who are lonely, hurting or sick.
Thanks to everyone that reads our blog and supports and encourages us throughout the year. I pray for you a very Merry Christmas and the best New Year...ever! |

Life is fleeting, years rush past...
and little boys grow up so fast!
Let me take time out to be
thankful mine is still here with me.
And though I'm busy through the day,
let me take time out to play...
Let me take time out to smile,
to sit with him for just a while...
Let me take time out for walks,
for swings and sports and quiet talks,
for sharing giggles, tickles, and hugs,
for patching knees and catching bugs...
for running races, climbing trees,
for helping with his A - B - C's...
For hatching plots and planning schemes,
for listening to his thoughts and dreams.
Let me tuck him in at night,
hear his prayers, turn off the light.
And when my busy day is done,
let me thank God I have a son.

I moved to Pilot Elementary School in the 2nd grade. I was nervous--I was never really good at making new friends. One of the first faces I remember seeing was Tiffanie’s. She has a smile that could light up a room--that’s one of the things that I love about her. We formed a fast friendship, that with its many ups and downs (mostly ups...with some middle school drama induced downs) has seen us through high school, first loves, college, first jobs, marriage, epic moves across country--and then finally BABIES.
My dad used to tell me that if I made it through life with one or two real friends, I should count myself blessed. I’ve managed to make it through the better part of my life with three--and Tiff is one of them. She was the first to get married and the first to have babies. So when dad showed me the pictures he did the other week of her sweet family, I was immediately taken back to 2nd grade. Looking at her sweet little Kylie’s face...I could almost see that same smile that welcomed me to a new school many many MANY years ago. And that little Will--have mercy! He has his daddy’s charm and the sweetest little spirit.
So yes, I am both blessed and proud to call this beautiful woman my friend...wouldn’t you be?

F or many years the Styers family has been a wonderful gift to the Thomasville community. All of you that know them, know that I could write for a long time and only begin to describe what they mean to us here in our fine little town. Leaders, teachers, role models, and friends are just a few words that come to mind. However, there's one quality they all possess - - they make you feel like you're the most important person in the world. There's a kindness and gentleness about their spirit that just draws you in and once you're there, there's a confidence they give that makes you feel like you could tackle the world. I'm looking forward to watching little Lucy as she grows, I'm sure these wonderful gifts will be passed on to her! |
